Cervical cord injuries occurred in two infants where the intrauterine position had been abnormal with maximal hyperextension of the fetal head. The importance of diagnosing such fetal positions is emphasized. Cesarean section can prevent injury to the fetus. The injuries of the cervical cord can give rise to a picture which, from a roentgenological point of view, resembles that of an intramedullary tumor.
