Abstract

In the title compound [2-hydroxybenzaldehyde 2-pyridylcarbonylhydrazone hemihydrate, C13H11N3O2.0.5H2O, or (1).0.5H2O], molecules of (1) are linked pairwise through intermolecular N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds. These pairs alternate with hydrogen-bonded water molecules to form one-dimensional chains.
