Constant fluorescence during phase grating formation and defect band bleaching in optical fibres under 5.1 eV laser exposure

In the Letter the UV laser-induced bleaching of the 5.1 eV defect absorption band in optical fibres is correlated with photosensitive phase grating formation. No significant change in the 3.1 eV fluorescence is observed on this same time scale.
