Plutonium determinations have been carried out monthly on air filter samples (1966 and 1967) and on deposition samples (1967) with the aim of following the arrival to the ground of the SNAP-9A 238Pu fallout. The results of the measurements show that during the summer of 1967 the 238Pu activity has attained about half that of the weapon 239Pu. In terms of concentration, the activity maxima are 2.8 × 10-5 pCi/m3 in air and 3.6 μCi/km2 in deposition.
