Transition Probabilities for the Swan and Mulliken C_{2}; Bands

Abstract

Radiative lifetimes of 14.6 ± 1.5 nsec for the L~tV = 0 sequence of the d ~ - x' ~ Mulliken C2 bands, and of 170 ± 20 nsec for A 311g - X' 3ll~ Swan bands of C2 have been determined. Absolute transition probabilities are calculated from the lifetime data using published Franck-Condon factors, and are compared with other values where possible
