LH and PH are two pathophysiologically different entities in pregnancy-induced hypertension. In PH, renin secretion is not appropriate to hypovolemia and therefore not primarily involved in the pathogenesis of hypertension. The role of hypovolemia in the increase of BUA may be discussed.
