This paper solves the problem of a stress field in an infinitely large matrix having a cuboidal element (of the same material) within which the initial (transformation) strains are uniform. Using a method which employs the Galerkin vector, expressions for stresses are obtained in terms of triple Fourier integrals. The resulting multiple integrals are integrated in closed form. Numerical stress evaluation has been performed for cuboids of three different shapes.
