Abstract

Examination was made of 192 wild boar stomachs (Sus scrofa Linnaeus, 1758) collected during the period from April 1975 to March 1977 in several areas in north-eastern Poland. The entire stomach contents were weighed, than mixed in a bucket, after which a 1-litre sample was taken and fixed in 5% formalin. Sixty percent of the total stomach contents was analyzed. The percentages of wet plant and animal masses of food were determined, and the composition of the food examined in detail.
