Abstract

Abstract The condensation of m-hydroxybenzyl alcohol with chlorobenzene was examined in several different solvents, and an effective route to m-phenoxybenzyl alcohol has been developed by using 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone (DMI) as a solvent.
