A large subsample of Franz Kallmann’s pedigree data for schizophrenia is evaluated for demographic parameters prior to genetic analyses. The lognormal distribution is selected to represent the age of onset. The probability of becoming a proband is examined as a function of age of onset. Sex ratios and additional relevant statistics are detailed. The results of generalized segregation analyses are to be reported in subsequent publications.
