Diazoniapolycyclic Ions Inhibit the Activity of Topoisomerase I and the Growth of Certain Tumor Cell Lines

Abstract

Unsubstituted polyaromatic dications exhibit a significant influence on the activity of topoisomerase I, as shown by plasmid relaxation assays and molecular modeling studies. Moreover, these compounds inhibit the growth of selected human tumor cell lines.
