Abstract

No chloramphenicol was detected in the blood serum in six babies, one of whom had vomited half an hour after its dose. No cause for the remaining five negative results was found. Failure of absorption was dis- counted, as one of these cases showed a reasonable serum level in a repeat test the following day.
