Fungal endophthalmitis after surgery or trauma is uncommon. 1-7 We are not aware of any report in the literature ofScytalidium dimidiatum (under the name S synanamorph subspecies of Hender- sonula toruloidea) causing eye infection.>" This paper reports a severe case of S dimidiatum -endopthalmitis following trauma. Despite intra- ocular amphotericin B, miconazole, topical natamycin, and extensive surgical debridement of the involved ocular tissues, the infection persisted and necessitated enucleation.
