3-(Arylethynyl)-2<italic>H</italic>-indazoles are synthesized in one-pot using 2-nitroarylaldehydes, primary amines and alkynes catalysed by the Zn(OTf)<sub>2</sub>/CuBr system in moderate to good yields.
