Food habits of the red fox in Greece

Abstract

The stomach contents of 190 red foxes Vulpes vulpes (Linnaeus, 1758), collected throughout Greece during 1982-85, were examined for prey remains. Of these, 165 stomachs contained measurable quantities of food.The fox had a wide dietary range, consisting of approximately 70 prey species.
