The latent period in carcinogenesis by plastics in rats and its relation to the presarcomatous stage

Abstract

S gaged in experiments on the induction of sarcomas in rats and mice by embedding plastic films subcutaneously on one or both sides of the abdominal wall. The sarcomas appear after a latent period varying from 7 months (1 case only) to 2.5 years, with the great majority appearing between 1 and 2 years after embedding.
