The review concerns the state of the art in and prospects for the development of chemistry of a new class of porous compounds, homochiral metal-organic coordination polymers. Main approaches to the synthesis and structure determination of such systems by X-ray diffraction analysis, as well as stability of metal-organic frameworks and supramolecular chemistry of host–guest inclusion compounds are considered. Prospects for practical application of these compounds first of all for enantioselective resolution and catalysis are discussed. The bibliography includes 175 references.
