Abstract

Abstract The previously recommended approach to inadvertent surgically placed aortocoronary vein fistula has been patient observation or surgical closure with rebypass. A third alternative, percutaneous embolic occlusion, is reported here and is recommended for use by those experienced with embolic techniques in situations where repeat bypass is not necessary and the existence of the fistula is felt to be detrimental to the patient's condition.
