Calculations on the permanganate ion in the ground and excited states

Abstract

A b initio self-consistent-field calculations have been carried out on the permanganate ion using large Gaussian basis sets. The ground state as well as a number of interesting excited states have been treated. Calculations for the neutral and double negative species derived from the permanganate ion are also given.
