The authors' observations throw some doubt on the validity of objections to the use of digitalis in the presence of ventricular tachycardia. These observations demonstrate that digitalis can be used liberally and that it does not appear to interfere with conversion to a normal mechanism. They suggest that digitalis may even set the stage for reconversion by aiding the failing heart.
