The first molecular compound of divalent silicon that is stable under normal conditions and the first π‐complex with silicon as the central atom is decamethylsilicocene 2 . It was prepared by reduction of 1 with naphthalenelithium, naphthalenesodium, or naphthalenepotassium. Two conformers in the ratio 1:2 are present in the unit cell. equation image
