New Value for the Magnetic Moment of the Antiproton

Abstract

From a study of the fine-structure splittings in antiprotonic atoms formed in Pb and U, we have obtained a precise value of the $\overline{p}$ magnetic moment: ${\ensuremath{\mu}}_{\overline{p}}=(\ensuremath{-}2.819\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.056){\ensuremath{\mu}}_{N}$.
