ABSTRACT The effects of the tire dynamic load on the normal stresses at the soil-tire interface of a pneumatic tractor tire were investigated. Results showed that on loose soil, the normal stresses increased with increases in dynamic load. On firm soil, normal stresses increased with dynamic load near the outside of the tire, but decreased with dynamic load near the tire center.
