Abstract

SUMMARY Ten pituitary giants have been seen in hospitals in the Manchester region between 1938 and 1980, nine of whom are still alive. We report the clinical and hormonal features in eight of these cases. Marked skeletal deformity and psychological problems were common. We draw attention to the importance of early diagnosis and treatment if the long‐term sequelae of pituitary gigantism are to be prevented.
