Prospective randomized multicentre trial comparing stapled with open haemorrhoidectomy

Abstract

Stapled haemorrhoidectomy is as effective as conventional haemorrhoidectomy. Reduced postoperative pain, shorter hospital stay and a trend toward earlier return to work suggest short-term advantages for the stapled technique.
