Trimetazidine May Protect the Myocardium during Cardiac Surgery

Abstract

We conclude that pretreatment with trimetazidine has some beneficial effects in protecting the myocardium and decreasing myocardial injury during the cardioplegic arrest period in open heart surgery without affecting postoperative hemodynamics.
