Methoxyestradiols Mediate the Antimitogenic Effects of 17β-Estradiol

Abstract

These data provide strong evidence that the vascular antimitogenic effects of estradiol are estrogen receptor-independent and involve the sequential conversion of estradiol to hydroxyestradiols and then to methoxyestradiols.
