Abstract

Alosetron had no significant effect on gastrointestinal transit or rectal sensory and motor mechanisms in non-constipated irritable bowel syndrome patients in this study. Alosetron's effects on colonic sensorimotor function and central sensory mechanisms deserve further evaluation.
