Abstract

The lower part of the Good Friday Glacier on Axel Heiberg Island, N. W. T., started, sometime between 1952 and 1959, a period of markedly increased movement associated with a frontal advance of over 2 km, which showed clearly some of the features attributed to a glacier surge, while others were lacking. Such border cases merit special attention.
