Planning and optimisation of active distribution systems - an overview of CIGRE Working Group C6.19 activities

Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the activities of CIGRE
\nC6.19 Working Group (WG), focusing on the planning and
\noptimization of active distribution systems. This builds on
\nthe recommendations of CIGRE WG C6.11 that focused on
\nthe development and operation of active distribution
\nnetworks (ADNs). The C6.19 WG aims at addressing the
\nfollowing issues: (i) Survey on the state of the art on
\nplanning for active distribution systems; (ii) Requirements
\nof planning methodologies; (iii) Identification of short,
\nmedium and long term models for active distribution
\nsystem planning; (iv) reliability models of active
\ndistribution systems; and (v) algorithms for active
\ndistribution system expansion and upgrade planning,
\nincluding demand-side integration and storage.
