To investigate the driving dynamics of automobiles it is necessary to study the control characteristics of drivers. In this paper, a driver's steering model is proposed to represent the action of a driver who is driving an automobile along a curved course, assuming that he can predict the future position of the automobile based upon the present position, the yawing angle and the yawing velocity, and that the predicted future deviation is fed back to the steering force. With this model the dynamics of such man-automobile systems is investigated making use of simulation by a digital computer. From these simulation experiments, the adequateness of the model is confirmed.
