Abstract

We have accurately measured eleven muonic-atom transition energies in five elements sensitive to the vacuum-polarization corrections. We find good agreement between the theoretical and experimental values, the average difference being (0.18\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{} 0.15)% of the vacuum-polarization correction.
