The method of catheterization which we have used has been widely and successfully employed in the catheterization of paraplegic patients, in whom the risk of infection is very high Though catheterization of the urinary bladder is undesirable for other reasons as well as the possible risk of infection, there are instances where it is indicated. One of these would be con- tinuing doubt about the diagnosis of urinary tract infection in children after the examination of non-catheter specimens. The method described here seems to be a safe and practical one.
