A degassing experiment in steps at different temperatures shows, that radiogenic A 40 and primordial A 36 are trapped differently in the ABBE enstatite chondrite. A 40 diffuses out easily at low temperatures, while A 36 is released essentially at temperatures higher than 1000°C. Xe 129 follows the amount of primordial A 36 and the Xe 129 /Xe 132 -ratio is 5.5 at all temperatures. This may indicate that all Xenon isotopes have been included as primordial gas and care should be taken to relate it to the Iodine content of the present meteorite sample or to add the I—Xe-age to the K—A-age of the meteorite.
