Regioselective Hydrogenation and Carbonylation of Functionalized Dienes on Photocleavage from Their Tricarbonyliron Complexes

Abstract

β,γ-Unsaturated ketones, esters, and similar compounds can be obtained by a new method from dienones, dienoic esters, etc. The starting materials are converted into the Fe(CO)3 complexes; subsequent photocleavage in acetic acid proceeds via hydrogenation.
