This study compared the sex of progeny of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) produced from five different groups of sex-reversed females (i.e., XX males). The XX-male groups were separated according to testicular shape, condition of the gonoducts, and age of males. The shape of XX-male testes ranged from abnormally globular and rounded to elongated. Although all XX males exhibited gonoducts, the gonoducts were functional in only two of the five male groups. The gonoducts were occluded in the other male groups. Males with occluded gonoducts produced 100% female progeny. One group of males with functional gonoducts produced 86% female offspring, and the progeny ofthe other group were 100% female.
