Abstract

Abstract Magnetoacoustic oscillations have been observed and studied in 99•9999% pure single crystal cadmium with magnetic fields between 100 and 4500 oersted both perpendicular and parallel to the propagation direction of 30––150 Mc/s longitudinal waves. From these results it has been possible to deduce the shape of one part of the Fermi surface in the third zone and to make certain inferences about the second zone surface.
