Low-Temperature Magnetic Susceptibility and Specific Heats of Single Crystals PrCu₆

Abstract

We have measured the magnetic susceptibility and specific heat of PrCu 6 single crystal, and have determined the crystal electric field scheme of Pr 3+ . The experimental results claim the singlet ground state, contrary to the neutron scattering result. We have also determined the electronic specific heat coefficient to be 15.8 mJ/mol·K 2 .
