The theory of unsaturated flow in porous materials has been applied to the study of water penetration into concrete. This theory predicts the classical relationship between the cumulative volume of water absorbed and the square root of the elapsed time. In this Paper data are presented on both the volume of water absorbed and the depth of penetration of water, for a range of concrete mixes, as a function of time.
