Photoionization of Helium Metastable Atoms near Threshold

Abstract

We have experimentally determined the absolute cross sections for the photoionization of He($2^{1}S$) and He($2^{3}S$) metastable atoms from threshold to 2400 \AA{}. The results are compared with recent theoretical calculations.
