Abstract

Many designs of fault current limiter for use at power system voltages of 275 kV and greater have been proposed but it has not been clear which, if any, would be the most feasible and/or cost effective solution to the potential problem of increasing power system fault levels. This paper attempts to give an overview of the present situation and indicate the designs most likely to succeed. (5 pages)
