The propagation in air and underground of an electromagnetic wave originated by a current pulse in a small antenna located at or near the surface of the ground is studied. The treatment is based upon the resolution of a spherical wave into proper plane waves, this resolution being analogous to one used by Weyl(2) for the steady-state case.
