C 70 , C 60 ,…, diamond, graphite. The accurate calorimetric determination of the standard heats of formation of highly pure C 60 and C 70 confirms the fundamental statements concerning the stability in the series of the allotropic forms of carbon predicted from calculations. MM3 force‐field calculations provide the best prediction of the experimental values.
