Transformation of a Rayleigh fading channel intoa set of parallel AWGNchannels and its advantage for coded transmission

Abstract

The authors consider transmission over a memoryless Rayleigh fading channel. It is shown that an appropriate orthogonal transformation at the transmit side and block decision feedback equalisation at the receive side transform the Rayleigh fading channel into a set of AWGN channels. The advantage for coded transmission is demonstrated.
