Cobalt on Charcoal: A Convenient and Inexpensive Heterogeneous Pauson–Khand Catalyst

Abstract

Reused more than ten times without loss of catalytic activity: cobalt on charcoal has been developed as an inexpensive, heterogeneous, and highly effective catalyst for intra- [Eq. (1)] and intermolecular Pauson–Khand reactions. This excellent reusability and the simplicity of the reaction make this new catalyst system interesting for preparative applications in the laboratory and in industry.
