Thirty-five patients with carcinoma of the cervix had complete lymph node scans and lymphagiograms performed; 10 patients had exploratory laparotomies. A comparison of the findings of these procedures was made. It was found that the correlation between the lymph node scans and the lymphangiograms was poor. The surgical results were hard to evaluate. Only histologic correlation of lymph node scans and lymphangiograms could give testimony to their value, and this has not been done adequately. A prospective study is needed.
