Among the earlier studies were those carried out by Fahmy,2Samaan3and Spaeth and Gruber,4while more recently Anrep, Barsoum and Kenawy5, 6, 7have proved that khellin has a more powerful action than many of the coronary vasodilators commonly employed. Toxicity studies in animals have not been numerous, but Samaan3found that the lethal dose in toads and rabbits was many times greater than the therapeutic dose, and the...Bibliography1.
