Abstract Thermal Square Wave Method at single-frequency (TSWM) for the determination of the pyroelectric coefficient distribution and the polarization profile of ferroelectric materials is described. Mathematical analysis of the TSWM is presented alongside with the experimental setup description and data. Good correlation between the calculated and experimental results is demonstrated. Compared to LIMM the TSWM simplifies the mathematical analysis and is applicable to both bulk and film samples.
