Abstract A 4.5‐inch fully sealed flat panel display has been fabricated using a carbon nanotube‐organic vehicle composite. The turn‐on field of 1 V/μm and field emission current of 1.5mA at 3 V/μm were observed (J = 4.3 mA/cm 2 ). Field emission uniformity has been measured with the phosphor on ITO glass as an anode. Brightness of 450 cd/m 2 at 3.7 V/μm was observed. The fluctuation of the current was found to be less than 7% over a 4.5‐inch cathode area on 132 lines addressable diode type display.
