Chemistry of acetylenic ethers 84: Addition of aldehydes, ketones, esters and amides to 1‐alkynyl ethers under the influence of Lewis acids; direct formation of α,β‐unsaturated esters

Abstract

Abstract A large variety of α,β‐unsaturated esters has been prepared by addition of aldehydes and ketones to 1‐alkynyl ethers under the catalytic influence of boron trifluoride‐ether. With carboxylic esters and dimethylformamide β‐alkoxy‐ and β‐dimethylamino‐substituted acrylic esters are formed. The stereochemistry of the ester formation has been investigated.
